They're creepy and they're cooky

So, this week I've learned all about student rush tickets on broadway and I'm trying to take full advantage of it before I start my internship next week.

Yesterday I was able to see two shows for $70. It was awesome! I was researching tickets online and at 1:30 decided to go to the 2:00 matinee of Addams Family. So I grabbed all of my stuff and ran down to the theater. I was really surprised how good my seats were, too. For that show I was only 4 rows from the stage. I was absolutely in love with the show. The set was AMAZING! I love how all the pieces rotate and come out of the ground to make the different scenes. It was also really nice to see Bebe Neuwirth and Nathan Lane in the leading roles! After the show, I was able to get autographs from most of the cast (Lane and Neuwirth never came our of the backstage door).

After coming back home for a couple minutes I went back to 45th street to see Billy Elliot. That show was very good as well. I don't know what my problem is though with understanding English accents. I feel like I missed a lot of the jokes because I couldn't understand. So that was a little frustrating. But the dancing was phenomenal!

Tonight I bought tickets for A Behanding in Spokane with Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell. This show is closing on Sunday so I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to get a seat. I'm sure it will be great! I'll update you all about it later :)

Until then.

  1. After living in NYC for 3 years, I am SUPER JEALOUS that you get to live there for the summer. New York is magical and there are so many things to do there. If you get the chance, you have to go to my favorite restaurant, Indus Valley. It's at the corner of 100th and Broadway. Best Indian in the city and I have craved it every day since I moved back to Indiana. I look forward to reading about your many NYC adventures. Good luck with the internship!

  2. I love how you're seeing all these shows. I was unimpressed with the Tony Awards this year, but some of the amazing shows are still there I love. I didn't know how well Addam's Family would be received, but you have me sold on it. And student rush and lottery is awesome. Be sure you get to In The Heights - probably my favorite, seen it twice on Broadway. Next to Normal too, there's so much great praise for it too.

I hope I can get out there and see you. Be sure to hit up the Shake Shak, an expensive burger and fries, but well worth the artery clogging goodness (and the chocolate shake should be considered a drug, but thankfully it's not).

    Keep posting, kiddo!!!
